  1. Hello, The issue affects every server globally and is due to a lack of optimizations from FP recently; as seen in the most recent devblogs they have concentrated their efforts on adding new content. Once FP find a resolution and the servers are updated, the performance will be increased.

  4. It does appear to be a datacenter issue but no word on an ETA. Normally issues are resolved quite speedily but this does appear to be affecting other communities at this time as well. I can confirm our provider has implemented measures which should now re-establish connectivity. If you still encounter issues, feel free to continue in this thread.

  6. I have seen comments about people switching to and fro a VPN enabled them to get back in; can people experiencing this issue try an alternate connection if available? It appears this is tied to Steam's authentication servers at this time.

  19. This is unfortunately a Steam issue and not a game issue. FP will need to implement a workaround or get in contact with Steam to find a fix.

  21. That's because Staging is on the staging branch. you need to switch your beta to "staging" in the properties -> betas tab of Rust on steam. If the server needed updating it would say the same but "Server update required" instead of "Client update required". Since we update every Thursday once the game update hits, unless you are joining within a very short window of about 15 minutes before the server is queued to update, then you'll see Client update required. Staging is not just another server. It's previous name was "dev" (short for development). When the update hits, the main branch merges from staging and thus both the protocols are the same. You can think of this as a Y shaped traintrack coalescing into the single part of the track where anyone on either branch can join. Once protocol changes are made on the staging branch, the two protocols effectively split and are incompatible with each other.
  22. Client update required means just that; you, the client, need to update your game. Try restarting Rust or verifying your game cache.
  23. Everything is force wiped on the first Thursday of every month; so one of the servers would have to wipe for longer or in a shorter time than the other to get alternate wipes.
